The project for the residential complex on the slope of Brione s. Minusio aims to enhance the Ticino landscape, preserving the existing park, terraces and rural artefacts. The site, characterised by a panoramic view and a combination of existing buildings, rural structures and orchards, requires the careful integration of new structures. Two horizontal two-storey buildings are therefore located in the southern part, near Via Storta, following the morphology of the terrain and interacting with the existing structures. Particular attention is paid to the integration of parking spaces and accessibility: a system of gently sloping ramps and a single lift ensure smooth, barrier-free connections between the various levels.
The housing types prioritise the quality of space: single-storey apartments, double exposures, south-facing loggias and naturally lit paths on the uphill side.
A total of 22 dwellings are planned, with minor renovations to the existing buildings and the possibility of further limited extensions in the future. The project adopts sustainable and economical solutions, reducing excavation, limiting the use of reinforced concrete and employing wooden structures, complemented by a photovoltaic system.
The architectural expression is based on loggias and pergolas that filter the light, unify the whole and refer to the building tradition of Ticino.
